At least one person has been reportedly killed in a clash that broke up between members of Nigeria Custums Services and some rice smugglers in One Ola area of Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government area of Ogun State.

Inkline Times gathered that, trouble started when Customs officers stormed a hide out where the imported banned rice were stocked shooting to the air to dismantle the smugglers.

Already armed too, the smugglers were said to have engaged the officers in a gun battle that led to the killing of an innocent boy who was playing football with his colleagues at the Local Government Primary School, Oke-Ola, Ilaro.

An eye witness account who preferred anonymity disclosed to Inkline Times that, at least five persons sustained gun injuries during the encounter.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police, Ilaro has arrested a notorious robber allegedly terrorising Ilaro communities and its environs. The alleged robber popularity known as S1 was apprehended las Wednesday after a very hard work by the men of Nigeria Police in Ilaro..

All efforts to speak with the PRO, Ogun State Command of Nigeria Customs proved abortive as at the time of filing in this report.
