Mesut Ozil’s agent has revealed the midfielder has offers from clubs “all over the world” but intends to sit out the last six months of his contract at Arsenal.

The 32-year-old has been frozen out of first-team affairs by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, with no indication he is set to be recalled.

From January Ozil will be able to open pre-contract negotiations with foreign clubs to line up his next month once his Arsenal deal expires in June.

But the German’s representative, Dr Erkut Sogut, says there is little chance of Ozil moving on before the end of the season, despite having already held talks with Fenerbahce.

“Mesut has another 6-month contract with Arsenal. Certainly, he has missed football,” Dr. Sogut told  Fanatik  .

“He is currently working hard to wear the Arsenal shirt again, and he will continue to work.

“I would like to clearly state our situation regarding Fenerbahçe. Yes, we had meetings with Fenerbahçe. We had a one-on-one conversation with the club’s most authorized people.

“However, we can never have a contact before January for official transfer talks. We received transfer offers for Mesut from all over the world.

“Fenerbahce’s interest is also known. Nothing has changed for Mesut right now. Under these circumstances, it seems that Mesut will complete the season in Arsenal.”

Along with Fenerbahce, there has been reported interest in Ozil from Major League Soccer (MLS), with DC United believed to be strong candidates for his signature.

But Ozil is still Arsenal’s top earner on a bumper £350,000-per-week contract – a figure he is unlikely to get close to elsewhere.

It is little wonder then that Ozil is happy to sit tight, particularly as there will no doubt be more offers on the table when he becomes available on a free transfer.

Arsenal would probably be willing to waiver a fee for Ozil’s services in January, but they would still have to come to an agreement over the remainder of his wages, which would prove tricky.

Ozil still holds out hopes of finishing what will be an eight-year stay at Arsenal on a high, but faces a difficult task to get back in Arteta’s plans.

In fact, it seems Arsenal are looking to sign a creative midfielder in January, which would effectively put the final nail in Ozil’s Gunners career.

“It’s quite clear what we need,” Arsenal’s technical director Edu said. “We need a player with creativity in the middle, we don’t have that in the squad right now.”

And Edu has also hinted the club have tried to strike a deal with Ozil for his early departure.

“I talked to him, Mikel talked to his agent, I talked to his agent about some possibilities, not fighting, just some things to try and help each other,” Edu said.

“The way we see his future at the club, the way we see him here. It’s quite clear.”
