Barely two weeks after the landmark success recorded on the invention of first Ventilator in Nigeria, the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro has commenced immediate distribution of relief materials to the people of Ilaro and its environs.

The Rector of the institution, Arc(Dr) Olusegun Aluko made this known during the kick off of the programme at Gbokoto village, Ilaro, today.

According to Aluko, the Polytechnic would continue to sustain the town and gown relationship which has been established for a very long time towards ensuring more cordiality and mutual relationship between the Polytechnic and the host community.

He however pointed out that the palliative measure is to the less privileged and the vulnerable ones who are financially incapacitated or unable to fend themselves in this period of lockdown in the state.

The distribution team then proceeded to Sarumi village, Orile Itolu and pahayi villages respectively, where items were distributed to old people and the vulnerable ones.

Thereafter, the team moved to Sayedero market, Ilaro where sanitizers and face masks were freely distributed after embarking on public enlightenment campaign on Covid-19 pandemic within the town.

Some of the items distributed include, rice, beans, groundnut oil, sachets of tomatoes, maggi, salt, sanitizers and washable face mask

While charging members of the team to ensure the items get to those who really need them, the rector disclosed that the next phase of the programme continues before the end of the week where items would be once again distributed.
