Despite the orders of Ogun state government as well the federal government urging Nigerians to avoid gatherings across the state, traders in Ilaro today defied the order as the popular Sayedero market witnessed a large turnout of buyers and sellers.
Inklinetimes earlier gathered that, the traders had prepared to observe the mandatory closure of the market as a result of Covid-19 virus ravaging the entire globe. It is however unknown how the market became opened for business.
One of the traders who preferred anonymity said that, she decided to bring her goods to the market when she saw other traders from far and near bringing theirs. She also disclose that, it may be difficult to shut down the market without involving law enforcement agents.
Meanwhile, some of the traders today, were seen administering hand sanitizers to their customers as buying and selling went on. Nose masks and hand gloves were other precautionary measures put in place at the market.
