The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, has approved the appointment of Mrs Akintomide Taiwo Omotayo as Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA, HAPSS 17) with effect from 22nd March, 2020.
According to a release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Dr K. A. M Olabimtan, the appointment is in conformity with the provisions of the Approved Scheme of Service for Local Government Employees in Nigeria, Fourth Revised Edition (2006).
Mrs Akintomide who hails from Igan-Okoto in Yewa North area of Ogun State, holds a Master Degree in Public Administration from the University of Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State in 2003, Post- Graduate Diploma in Local Government Studies from the Obafemi Awolowo, Ile- Ife, Osun State in 2015.
She is an alumnus of Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago- Iwoye where she bagged her first degree in History in 1988 before obtaining a certificate in journalism at the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ikeja, Lagos.
Until her appointment, Mrs Akintomide Taiwo Omotayo was the Director, Information, Education and Sports Department in Yewa South Local Government, Ilaro, Ogun State and the immediate past HOLGA of Idiroko Local Coucil Development Authority, Ilashe. She had served as the Director of Education, Information and sports at various Local Governments across the State.
The Permanent Secretary, while congratulating her on this lofty appointment, charged her to be more diligent and proactive so as to justify the confidence reposed in her by the Commission.
Mrs Akintomide is presently a member of the Ogun State Council, Nigeria Union of Journalists and an associate member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. She is happily married to Engr Yinka Akintomide.
