The management of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo as well as the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and other institutions in the state have complied with the instruction given by Ogun State and Federal government to close down all academic activities in the state due to the pandemic corona virus.
According to a release made available to inklinetimes, the management of Babcock university ordered immediate suspension of all academic activities in the institution by Friday and urged parents to start picking their children without any further delay, except on Saturday.
In the same vein, the Federal polytechnic, Ilaro acting on the order of the Federal government, also directed the school to be closed till further notice.
The Registrar of the polytechnic, Mrs Adebisi Osore in a release made available to inklinetimes stated that, “the Rector has directed that the resumption of students for the second semester 2019/2020 earlier scheduled for March 22nd, 2020 should be postponed indefinitely”.
The statement further urged parents and students to be on alert for information from the media on the new date of resumption, while also advising them to adhere strictly to various precautionary measures against the spread of corona virus.
Meanwhile, students of public and private secondary schools as well as primary schools across the state returned back home early in compliance with the directive of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun as part of the plans aimed at curtailing the spread of the disease in Ogun state.
Nigeria, just like other nations of the world is putting all necessary mercenaries in place towards avoiding the further spread of the disease in the country.
Earlier, the Ogun state government banned every gathering involving 50 people or more including worship centres as well as public places.
