Residents of Ilaro in Yewa South LG area of Ogun State have expressed their worries over lack of rainfall in the area since the year 2020 begun.
A market woman who preferred anonymity at Oke-Ela area of the town described the lack of rain as a cause of concern for the people and the community at large.
According to her, ‘we have been hearing of rainfalls in other parts of the state this year and up till now, nothing like that in Ilaro’.
In his own reaction, Mr Ajibade Adeoye lamented the delay in the rainfall which he attributed to natural cause. He however called on the community leaders to find something doing so that there can be rain in the town just like other areas like Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu are enjoying the relieve presently.
Also speaking, a trader at Orita who preferred to be called ‘Mama bread” however said that, the town had recorded her first rain of the year, though not in all parts of the town and at a very short time.
She therefore urged the people of the community, churches, masques as well as the traditional worshipers to pray for the town in order for rain to fall in due course.
Inklinetimes gathered that lack of rainfall in Ilaro township has become worrisome to the residents who are eagerly expectant to see the first major rainfall of the year in the town.
