The rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Arc (Dr) Olusegun Aluko has described the academic calendar of the institution as stable and unequalled in the last fifteen years.
Arc Aluko made this known while fielding questions from journalists in his Ilaro office, recently. He however ascribed the stable calendar to the undiluted peace enjoyed in the polytechnic.
According to him, ” our students always know when they are coming to FPI and when they are graduating as we follow the school calendar without any form of distractions”.
On the issue of the embattled Students Union President, Comrade Adegboye Olatunji, the rector said, “contrary to the rumour being peddled around, the Students Union president has not been rusticated but only suspended pending the outcome of police investigation”.
He therefore called on those peddling such rumours to stop misleading the public and with the assurance that once the decision of the magistrate court is made, the school would obey and then subject the president to proper investigation as stipulated in the Polytechnic’s Students handbook.
Arc Aluko therefore enjoined the students to concentrate on their academic pursuits and continue to excel in order to sustain the success story of the institution globally.
The first semester examination of the institution is currently ongoing amidst tight security within and outside the campus, aimed at forestalling any act of breaking down of law and order.
