The joy of one of the popular big boys in town, Olumide Olaifa was on display recently when he was joined in a traditional wedding with his heartthrob, Oluwabisi in Sagamu, Ogun State.
Dressed in a complete Yoruba attire displaying his root and expressing his joyfulness, Olumide was full of smiles all through the event that drew mighty friends from the South West area of the nation and beyond.
While fielding questions from the Inklinetimes, the bridegroom disclosed that, he couldn’t have been happier than the expression on his face, saying, “finally, I am married, I am hooked!”
Speaking at the occasion, an elated brother to Olumide and Lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Tunde Olaifa said, “it is a thing of joy to see the two love birds coming together as one”
He however prayed that the Lord bless the union and make the couple eternal friends with fruuthfulness.
The new bride, Oluwabisi (new Awolumate) could not hide her joy of being a married woman as she was so full of life all through the event.
The hallmark of the event was the traditional entrance into the Awolumate family where Olumide and his friends prostrated to seek the hands of Oluwabisi in marriage.
He was graciously welcomed and honoured by the Awolumate family members, while the new bride was later presented to Olaifa family in accordance with the rich Yoruba tradition and culture.
The new couple were blessed by the two families as well as friends and well wishers at the occasion with Olabisi overwhelmed with “marital tears” (ekun iyawo) to the admiration of all.
