The new Commissioner of Police (Ogun State Command), Kenneth Ebrimson has disclosed that the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro is not far from becoming a University.
This submission was made by the Super Cop during his courtesy visit to the rector of the polytechnic, Arc (Dr)Olusegun Aluko, yesterday.
According to him, “with the high level of infrastructural development I noticed, there’s a brighter future for the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro”.
Mr Ebrimson who recently assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police in Ogun State was on familiarization tour of the State Command, equally appreciated the institution for being an important factor in community policing and security matters.
He however expressed his gratitude to the management team for always supporting the Police Force in its bid for a peaceful environment, promising that the Nigeria Police Force would not renege in availing the institution with adequate security as at when due.
While congratulating the new Commissioner of Police, the Rector, Arc (Dr)Olusegun Aluko extolled the virtues of Ilaro DPO and his team for their proactiveness on security matters which have been contributing to the uninterrupted stable academic calendar being witnessed by the institution over the last 15 years.
Arc Aluko also used the occasion to reassure the CP that, students of the institution are well behaved and law abiding from time to time, while calling for more cordial relationships between the police and the entire community at large
The rector therefore, wished the CP accelerated promotions, (just like his predecessors who had worked in Ogun state), God”s wisdom and protection for a successful tenure of office.
The CP’s entourage had in attendance, the DCO (Dept of Operations), DPOs, Area Commanders, and the Ogun State Police Command PRO, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi amongst others. While the Deputy Rector, Engr( Mrs) Ogunfayo, the Bursar,Mr. Bode Ajibode and the Poly Librarian, Mr Lawrence Adebisi and other members of the management were also present with the Rector.
