A foremost lawyer and prominent indigene of Yewaland, Barrister Rotimi Akintunde last Friday led who is who in the society to the final burial ceremony of his late father in-law, late Pa Solomon Awosanya in Sagamu, Ogun State.
The friday burial ceremony was the climax of the activities marking the celebration of the Octogenarian popularly known as, “Baba Awo” during his life time.
In a tribute jointly written by Barrister and Mrs Rotimi Akintunde, the late Pa Solomon was described as a caring father who would be greatly missed by the entire family.
According to the statement, ” Baba Ibeji, you are irreplaceable, missing you is an understatement, your demise has made us to know who is who..”
Meanwhile, guests were treated to a lavish party to celebrate a life well spent at Remo District Secondary School, Sagamu with creme de la creme of the society in attendance.
Notable among the personalities that set Sagamu agog were members of Nigeria Bar Association, members of Recreation Club, Ilaro as well as staff of Ogun State Ministry of Trade and Commerce. The State President of Barbers Association, Mr Gbenga Bamidele was also in attendance.
Others include well meaning sons and daughters of Yewaland such as Chief (Dr) Banji Ogunbiyi, Dr Mikhail Akinde, Alhaji Abu Satar, publisher of Startrend Magazine and Chief Shafardeen Popoola, Chairman of CDC, Ilaro area and family members, friends and well wishers from all works of life.
Guests were treated to a wonderful rendition of Fuji music by King Saheed Osupa who had a non-stop performance till evening time.
Barrister Rotimi Akintunde is married to one of late Pa Awosanya twins, Mrs Kehinde Akintunde of Ogun state Ministry of Trade and Commerce.
