The much awaited Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro radio station has hit the air waves in grand style with a promise to add value to broadcasting as well as bringing Yewaland to limelight the more.
Speaking at the commissioning of the radio station, the Rector of the institution, Arc Olusegun Aluko(PhD) said the radio station is to serve the department of Mass Communication and other departments in the polytechnic in order to enhance practical academic training of students.
In his own speech, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle thanked the Rector for a job well done, describing the station as the first of it’s kind in Yewaland
Oba Olugbenle therefore called on the people of Ilaro community and the entire Yewaland to see the station as their own, even as he named the station as “Paramount Station” and the Rector as his “Paramount Rector”.
Poly Ilaro 92.10 FM is the new radio station situated within the campus of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and has since commenced operation within the frame of NBC approval.
The commissioning was witnessed by notable personalities such as Engr (Mrs) Ogunfayo, Deputy Rector, Mrs Adebisi Osore, Registrar and Chief Lawrence Adebisi, Poly Librarian. Others include Chief Saanu, Chief Lala and Iyalode of Ilaroland.
