It was celebration galore as family, friends and colleagues of Mrs Ebunlomo Aluko, wife of the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Arc (Dr) Olusegun Aluko gathered together in celebration of her golden jubilee birthday.
The event was kicked off with a special birthday service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Judah Parish, Ilaro. The celebrant who was described as a Deaconess was full of joy and happiness while being celebrated by the church.
The hallmark of the event was a mild reception organized to mark the event where colleagues, family members and friends honoured her with their presence and gift items.
The Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Raheem Oloyo, the immediate past Rector of the institution described Mrs Aluko as a virtuous woman, dedicated, committed and loving and supportive.
According to him, ‘she is a good woman that is very supportive and God fearing in nature’. Dr Oloyo however prayed for the celebrant to live long in sound health and good mind.
In her own contribution, a friend of the polytechnic simply known as Mrs Ferisetan, described Mrs Aluko as a humble and ever smiling woman who never got bothered by the stress of life. She referred to the celebrant as “Ebunlomo MI” which translates to my child is a gift.
Responding, the celebrant,, Mrs Ebunlomo Aluko thanked everyone for coming to honour her with particular reference to her husband whom she referred to as the pillar of her success.
“I thank my husband for allowing me to serve God. He’s my pillar. Despite coming back late from church on Sundays, he always allow me to do my things”. Reflecting her joy, Mrs Aluko promised to deliver a set of twins for her husband anytime soon.
Members of the Music Department were on hand to dish out music to the admiration of audience, while KPM TV provided adequate coverage alongside cultural display for the occasion which equally featured the song of an outgoing Mass Communication student, Dominos.
