The Lagos State Police command, announced the capture 32 speculated cultists and recouped guns over the last one week.
The Representative for the operatives, DSP, Bala Elkana, affirmed the capture in an announcement on Sunday.
He said a 32-year-elderly person (name retained), an individual from Aiye Confraternity, was captured on Saturday.
Elkana said the suspect, captured by the Cultism Squad, while on watch at Mosafejo Amukoko Road, Ajegunle, was found possessing one privately made gun.
He focused on, that the suspect admitted his group was in charge of arrangement of vicious wrong- doings in Ajegunle.
“Investigation is ongoing and efforts are in place to apprehend other members of his gang. The suspect will be charged to court,” he said.
Elkana said around the same time agents of the Operation from 8 Division in Region H Command, Ogudu assaulted a cultists’ alcove at Bariga.
“The raid, he said, paid off as a 39-year-old suspected cult leader, a resident of Kajora Street, Bariga, was arrested with 22 members of his gang”.
He added: “They all confessed to be members of a deadly gang and a cult group responsible for various killings and violent crimes in Bariga.
“Investigation is ongoing, and suspects will be charged to court.”
He noticed that a subsequent activity did by officials of the Bariga Police headquarters on Wednesday at Oyenaya Road, Bariga, prompted the capture of a 20-year-old suspect and five different individuals from his group.
Elkana said two other speculated cultists were captured on July 24 at Itabale Igbolomu zone of Owutu, Ikorodu, while connecting each other in a fight for amazingness.
He said one privately made gun was recouped from them, focusing on that every one of the suspects would be charged to court soon.
