The Ogun State new Commissioner of Police, D. B. Makama today paid a courtesy visit to the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Arc. (Dr.) Olusegun O. Aluko as part of familiarisation tour of the state.
While speaking on his visit to the Polytechnic, the Commissioner of police said, ‘it is pertinent for any new officer to famiarise himself with the environment and the people he will be policing’.
He also remarked that Ogun state is peaceful, in comparison with the other parts of the country where duty calls had taken him.
Makama however called on the Rector and his management team as well as other members of the Polytechnic community to assist the Police in making his tenure memorable so as to make Ogun state crime-free and much more peaceful.
Responding, the Rector assured the CP that the institution will be willing to assist the police in every way possible to rid Ilaro, in particular and Ogun State in general of all criminally minded individuals.
The CP was accompanied by top hierarchy Police Officers in the state including the Ilaro Area Commander, the immediate past and the incumbent Ilaro DPOs, as well as other DPOs in Yewa area. The CP is expected to commence the activities marking his one hundred days in office , soon.
In attendance with the Rector to welcome CP Makama were the Deputy Rector, Engr. (Mrs.) I. K. Ogunfayo, the Registrar, Mrs. A. F. Osore and the Polytechnic Librarian, Mr. O. L. Adebisi.
