The Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Arc(Dr) Olusegun Aluko has assured the students of the institution of continuous support towards showcasing their God given talents to the outside world.

ALUKO made this known while declaring open the 2019 Students Union Week/Musical contest to signal the 40th anniversary celebration of the institution.

According to him, “we would continue to support you in every endeavour that can bring out the talents in you as long as you remain law abiding students of this institution”.

He further admonished the students not to see their academic pursuit as the only way of making it life, saying, “some of the successful musicians in Nigeria today are graduates from different fields of life who have made it through music.

In his own remarks, the chairman of the 40th anniversary publicity committee, Mr. Biodun Oluseye, thanked the rector for making the event a success and for being a visionary leader worthy of emulation.

The hallmark of the event was the musical talent show, dancing and on the spot display of artistic skills by the students.

The opening ceremony of the event had in attendance the Deputy Rector of the institution, Engr (Mrs) Ogunfayo, Dean, School of Communication, Information and Technology, Pastor ‘Sesan Olugbemi, his Students Affairs counterpart, Mr Fagoyinbo as well as other Heads of Department.
