Abeokuta-The Ogun State Government has authorized the extension of career for primary school teachers beyond Grade Level 14, ensuant upon their possession of university degrees.
According to a circular from the Office of the Head of Service, which disclosed that the career extension was not only approved but would also be sustained and maintained as a State policy, as it makes career development and also to heighten productivity of the teachers at the basic education level.
‘’I wish to refer to the above subject and convey the attached approval of this Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun GON, FCA, in respect of the career elongation of Graduate Teachers in the State Primary Schools beyond grade level 14, for your information and implementation’’, the circular further disclosed.
Reacting to this development, the Secretary of the Ogun State Universal Education Board, Mr. Olalekan Kuye, commended the State government for this well-timed policy, adding that this motion will not only increase the productivity but will also boost confidence and encourage self-development of primary school teachers.
He therefore enjoined the beneficiaries to be more focused, diligent, and responsible in the discharge of their duties, in order to justify the opportuned gesture.
